IB ACIO 2025 Recruitment – Short Notice Released; 3,717 Vacancies, Key Dates Announced

The Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has officially released the short notification for the Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO), Grade‑II/Executive (ACIO-II/Exe) recruitment. A total of 3,717 vacancies have been declared, and the complete application schedule, fee structure, selection stages, eligibility criteria, and exam patterns have been unveiled today.

Eligibility
Educational Qualification
A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university is required.
Basic computer literacy is preferred to handle day-to-day tasks.
Age Limit (as on August 10, 2025)
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 27 years
Age relaxation is granted as per government norms (e.g., 3 years for OBC, 5 for SC/ST, etc.).
Application Fee Breakdown
₹650 for male candidates in the General (UR), OBC, and EWS categories
₹550 for SC, ST, female candidates, and PWD candidates, with no added recruitment fee
(Note: Some sources mention ₹450 + ₹100 extra for male UR/OBC/EWS; the effective total is ₹550 or ₹650 as per category specifics)r
Selection Process: Three Stages to Join IB
The selection will take candidates through three rigorous stages:
Tier-I (Written Objective-Test, 100 marks)
100 MCQs covering General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical & Analytical Reasoning, English, and General Studies.
Duration: 60 minutes; ¼ negative marking per wrong answer
Tier-II (Descriptive Test, 50 marks)
Includes essay writing (30 marks) and English comprehension/précis writing (20 marks), to be completed in 60 minutes
Tier-III (Personality Test/Interview, 100 marks)
Shortlisted candidates from Tier-I and II will be interviewed, followed by document verification and a medical exam.
Minimum Qualifying Marks in Tier-I
UR/EWS – 35 marks; OBC – 34; SC/ST – 33
Pay Scale & Perks
Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level 7, drawing a basic salary between ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 under the 7th CPC. Additional benefits include:
Special Security Allowance (SSA) – 20% of basic pay
House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), Travel Allowance (TA), and Compensation for holiday duty

Register with your email and mobile number.
Fill in personal and educational details, upload photo, signature, required certificates.
Pay the application fee online.
Submit the form and download/print the confirmation page.

Although the Tier-I exam date hasn’t been published yet, it’s expected to be released 2–3 weeks before the exam, along with the admit card . Aspirants are advised to keep an eye on MHA’s website for exact dates.
