Ahaan Panday Shines in Mohit Suri’s “Saiyaara” Trailer: A Nepo Kid with Real Potential
Mumbai, July 8, 2025

Ahaan Panday, the 27-year-old rising star from the Panday–Panday clan, burst onto the scene today as the trailer for Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri, went live — and social media is buzzing.
Trailer Sparks Frenzy
The official trailer dropped on YouTube this afternoon, showcasing Panday as Krish Kapoor — a fierce, raw singer determined to claim the spotlight. One standout scene sees him confronting a record executive, shouting, “Your job is to review real artistes. If these blue‑tick celebrities sneeze, you call it art!”
This fiery delivery highlights his intense character arc: an emotionally charged artist, struggling with fame, love, and the pitfalls of rock-star life. The video is textured with a dramatic love story, moments of heartbreak, and haunting live performances.
Actor from Within the Family, But No Mere Star Kid
Born December 23, 1997, to businessman Chikki Panday and fitness guru Deanne Panday, Ahaan studied cinematic arts at the University of Mumbai before gaining hands-on film experience — working as an assistant director on titles like Rock On 2, Mardaani 2, and Freaky Ali.
But he’s gradually moving beyond his “star kid” tag. As one tweet from Moneycontrol summed it up: “A new talent from the Panday family has arrived!… #AhaanPanday makes a remarkably mature debut …” The sentiment is widely echoed: “Who would have thought Ahaan Panday would be the nepo to watch out for!”
Mohit Suri hasn’t held back in showcasing Ahaan’s vulnerable yet commanding screen presence. Early commentary online compares the tone to Suri’s earlier hit Aashiqui 2, though Panday brings restless angst and agency to Krish’s role.
Film critics highlight the conflict between Krish and lyricist Vaani (played by debutante Aneet Padda) — the trailer mixes love, heartbreak, and even a knife-wielding confrontation.
Netizen voices reveal a mix of excitement and critique:
“Ahaan was genuinely trying… knowing he is a nepo kid I am impressed.”
“Ahaan looks 50× more prepared than she did for her debut film. The work he’s put in shows…”
Others draw a direct line from Saiyaara to Aashiqui 2, dubbing it “Aashiqui 3” or the next-gen masterpiece — though some warn it risks feeling like an uninspired mash‑up.
Interestingly, Suri himself revealed earlier this June that Saiyaara originally began life as Aashiqui 3. When production accelerated, he felt it lacked the vision to uphold the legacy, and instead opted to recast the concept into this film.
This creative freedom may be why Saiyaara feels more visceral and unpredictable than a standard star‑kid launch.
