PM Kisan Samman Nidhi 20th Installment Likely by July 20: Farmers Urged to Update e-KYC and Aadhaar by July 18
July 16, 2025 | New Delhi
Millions of farmers across the country are eagerly awaiting the release of the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the Centre’s flagship direct income support scheme for small and marginal farmers. As per the latest developments, the ₹2,000 payout under the 20th installment is likely to be credited between July 19 and 20, 2025, with the Union Government expected to make an official announcement in the coming days.Sources suggest that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may officially release the installment during his visit to Motihari, Bihar, on July 18, in a ceremony that will also serve to re-emphasize the government’s commitment to India’s rural economy and agricultural sector.
Government Prepares for 20th Tranche Disbursal
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, launched in 2019, offers ₹6,000 per year to eligible farmers, paid in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months. These payments are made via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to beneficiaries who have completed all required documentation, including Aadhaar and e-KYC verification.
While the 19th installment was disbursed in February 2025, the 20th installment, which was initially expected in June, got delayed due to backend verifications and technical reviews to eliminate ineligible beneficiaries.
Now, with all backend systems stabilized, the Ministry of Agriculture is gearing up for a smooth rollout—potentially as early as this coming Friday, July 19, or Saturday, July 20.
What Farmers Need to Do Before July 18
Ahead of the upcoming transfer, the government has re-issued advisories to farmers, stressing the importance of ensuring the following are in place to avoid missing out on the ₹2,000 installment:
Complete e-KYC:
Farmers must finish Aadhaar-based OTP or biometric e-KYC by July 18. Incomplete KYC is the most common reason for payment failure.
Link Aadhaar with Bank Account:
Ensure your Aadhaar is properly linked to your bank account, which must be registered on the PM-KISAN portal.
Update Mobile Number:
An active mobile number linked to Aadhaar is essential for OTP-based authentication and SMS alerts regarding payment.
Verify Bank Details:
Check that your account number and IFSC code are correctly filled in on the portal.
Correct Land Records:
Beneficiaries with incorrect or mismatched land records will not receive the installment. Farmers should coordinate with their local Patwari or Revenue Officer for updates.
Check Name in Beneficiary List:
Farmers can log on to pmkisan.gov.in and use the “Know Your Status” feature to check whether they are still listed as active beneficiaries.

From Punjab to Odisha, farmers are expressing both excitement and anxiety. For many, the PM-KISAN installment is a crucial source of financial support ahead of the Kharif sowing season.
“हमने सब कुछ अपडेट कर दिया है – केवाईसी भी और आधार भी। अब बस इंतजार है कि ₹2000 कब खाते में आएंगे,”
says Ramesh Yadav, a farmer from Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh.
In Jharkhand, Kiran Devi, a widowed farmer, shared her concern:
“अगर मोबाइल नंबर पुराना है और OTP नहीं मिला तो पैसा अटक सकता है। इसलिए हमने CSC सेंटर से सब अपडेट करवा लिया।”
These voices reflect how integral the scheme has become for rural livelihood planning.
